Quality lasts
This is vintage Kerber. I don't know when I bought it- perhaps in 2004? It's such a great, comfy and flattering dress. This is a reason why you should get Kerber - because quality lasts and because life is so interesting that you'd do well do have a few dresses on hand instead of running around trying to find them.

Selfie disaster
I suck at taking selfies, feel uncomfortable and ridiculous.
But I wanted to ask for help on what to wear as I was going to see David Sedaris at Carnegie Hall with my friend Åsa.
First put on the wrap me dress.
Then tried the Need dress. But when I checked the pics, I saw you couldn't quite see the whole person shoes and all.
So thought I should stand on a chair.
Sadly fell off chair and it hurt so much.
And just as I cursed myself and the pain, I could hear the autorelease shutter smatter off, capturing the humiliation which I am now sharing with you.
Then turned out it was freezing cold so I settled for long johns under my Fatal pants. Added Tux jacket and was ready to go laughing.

Just in case
Carry Lake blouse with me in my bag just in case I decide to go somewhere where I'll have to look a little bit fancy.
Weighs nothing, takes up no space, saves me on any occasion.

Things that happen when others wear Kerber
Jenny Strömstedt breaks down over typhoon Fittow (English readers - that is the Swedish equivalent of a typhoon named Cuntow.)
Working in Union Square
Am beside myself with gratitude for getting to live in this city, to sit outside in October, to get to work just writing.

Overheard in New York
What happens when you have to finance your living by living with people you can't stand
Woman on phone: "The whole apartment smells of dirty clothes and cheap perfume. You know, smells just like her."
----
Everything bad is good for you
Woman talking to three friends: "I can cross any street without danger. I have such phenomenal peripheral vision. I think it's from working in bars for so long."
----
But for what do you need them? And how will you feed them? Please leash them.
Man on phone: "Hi, I need 30-40 really large black dogs."

Lake blouse, fatale pants = comfort & bliss
Here with Vanja. My mom just bought a load of Kerber too so soon we'll be three generations wearing the brand. Vanja's a bit small still, though.

Wishing I had worn my Kerber comfy pants instead
Did not wear Kerber pants here. As a result, was restricted in my climbing to the top.
Wore Lake blouse though. Always something.

Can't believe I get to live this life
My dream life is such a cliche, but who cares, today I feel like I'm living it.
Sitting at my local favorite hangout - Morgane in Brooklyn, thinking, reading, writing.
Feeling so lucky.
Wearing stream top. Love it.

travel in time
Yesterday took the ferry to Governor's Island which was also like taking a boat to the fifties. All families and old music and old ways of having fun - putting lots of people in the same hammock, riding ancient merry go rounds, eating burgers and listening to old music.

Things that happen when I wear kerber - move abroad.
I didn't post this, did I?
Wearing Kerber to our goodbye party in Stockholm a few days before we left for New York.
Wore Kerber on the plane too. Just works. Try it for yourself the next time you move to a foreign country.

Rachel Khoo at Williams-Sonoma, Columbus Circle
So yesterday went to Rachel Khoo's book signing at Williams Sonoma.
My friends Sarah, Maria and Saranii went along too. Below: Saranii discussing beignet making with Rachel.
Saranii is a teacher and a friend of all animals. All animals. Am serious. She speaks English, Dutch, Italian and I think every language of every animal.
We brought Rachel's book with us from Sweden, will soon try one of the recipes myself. Will let you know how that goes.
off now to see if I can place the kids in more camps to help them get more fluent in English before they enter the American public school system in September.
Also today: MOVING IN FOR REAL IN OUR OWN APARTMENT. For the sake of this blog, will move in wearing Kerber.
love

My life this minute.
Am sitting here, waiting for Niki to finish dance day camp. So happy about one particular thing today: wrote an entire chapter for a project I'm working on. The writing came so easily, it almost felt like cheating.
It's hot in Brooklyn today but not as hot as it's been. There's just this mellow nice breeze and a wonderful summer feeling.
We left most of our books in Sweden as we could only bring one suitcase each on the plane. Today made my first book purchase state side in the nice Brooklyn Art Library store:
Immediately loved this list - an artist listing his financial needs to a benefactor, listing "bad habits" as one of his main spendings. (though personally wanted to scrawl "semi" right before bad habits cause at a mere 5 bucks how bad could they possibly have been?)
They don't have air conditioning at this cafe, just a fan going back and forth. I wanted the fan effect in my hair and realized timing was similar to that of using laughing gas during labor: you have to plan to hit the button/gas prior to the moment you want the effect to set in.
If you want to make money in Brooklyn, I think this is all you have to do: travel the states with a big truck and buy 60's (or older) wooden furniture for close to nothing. Then return and mark all items
2 600 dollars. That's what people do here. Promise. You could do it too.
Ok, that's it for now, must go pick Niki up.
Next: Meeting up with friends to go to this:

Ps. Passed this sign on the street today. Wanted to tell them "you had me at beer".

soccer mom
taking joel to soccer, heat is already impressive.
my strategy to wear the party shorts was a great idea.
My idea to take a better picture of the shorts? good and bad.
these shorts were also great for walking a 5-year old to dance day camp.
One thing I like about these shorts besides the comfort and style is their name. When people go on about how there's a party in their pants and would you like to join, you can honestly reply "No thanks, I have my on party shorts on right now, so you can keep your party to yourself."

Ok, so here's where we start.
This will be a blog about the great things that happen when you're wearing Kerber clothes.
It will be written by me, Emi, a writer who've lived most of my life in Stockholm but who have recently (=6 days ago today) relocated to Brooklyn, NY.
I've had a bunch of different blogs before but this one is dedicated to the Kerber brand.
Cause I love the clothes and the designer Marielle.
In the pic above I'm wearing the silk city beach dress in red drizzle print.
It was so hot in New York, native New Yorkers told me we were hitting a 9 on a scale of 10.
In this dress though, I just felt like a Sicilian woman going about her business not too concerned about degrees. Look, not even fighting with my kids.
Was wearing:
beach dress,
city beach dress,
dress,
dresses,
drizzle print
